KNOW Book + Tribe: What’s one piece of advice you’d share to females trying to do the uncommon and become firsts in their field through awards, entrepreneurial journeys, etc.?

Shayne: My advice is to start small and work hard. Figure out what you’re good at and get even better at it, become the best at what you do. Continue to learn and challenge yourself and be kind to people you meet along the way. One day you will see how much your hard work has paid off.

What does honoring women mean to you and how can we continue to strive towards acknowledging more women and the work they are doing?

To be recognized as the #1 Ranked CPA Firm two years in a row means the world to me. Accounting and Finance have been a historically male-dominated field and honoring women shows that the industry is changing. I think it is important for women to have support from other women who are professionals so they can make the best financial decisions for their companies and themselves.

Last but not least, how do you Lift + Rise?

My firm is woman-owned and operated. I believe in hiring strong women and encouraging them to be independent and successful. I Lift + Rise by empowering my team and recognizing their strengths and allowing them to strive in their respective positions.
