How has digital transformation impacted your business operations and overall strategy?

How AI has had a good impact on my business is the use of social media. It has added a new perspective to my business marketing message. A new convenience factor of just adding a few words I want my message to have, and it creates it for me with a few personal tweaks on my end to keep it within my brand voice.

Digital transformation has allowed me to have a growing business because it’s such a core aspect of entrepreneurship and I enjoy being that resource for other business owners. However, it still requires a lot of adaptation and learning that even I have to learn to keep up with! When I was struggling to grow my podcast (and my business), the only way forward I could see was creating more and more content in order to get discovered (through SEO) and visible (on social media). But the process of doing so was overwhelming, exhausting, and burnt my team and me out! What are the key benefits or advantages you have observed as a result of these changes?

Efficiency is a key benefit because tools like ChatGPT have allowed me to be more creative and involved in the writing process when in the past, I’d have to outsource to creative professionals or ask for help when I’m stuck. Of course, having communications professionals on the team is still beneficial and I enjoy the opportunity to mix human and digital tools together!

The benefit of convenience and new perspective. If I’m being honest with myself I think it also pushes the personal human touch to add more creativity. So it is really pushing the boundary, and if we sleep on it… it might take our jobs.

How do you approach upskilling and reskilling your workforce to adapt to digital transformation and AI advancements?

I encourage them to always think about how it can better anything they are currently working on. Testing it out and putting it in action is the best way to learn it.

Our whole team has embraced tools and technologies, especially if it makes their jobs simpler, quicker, and easier. Making them feel safe in their jobs has been key to adoption. This has meant ensuring that they are involved in the decision-making process about new technologies and coaching them when it seems they are being resistant to change. At the end of the day, adapting to change is a muscle we have to build, and that is what I’m trying to help build in my team.

How do you ensure ethical and responsible use of AI in your business practices?

We believe in AI being the assistant to humans, which governs how we use the technology in our business. In marketing areas where I am connecting directly with my audience (e.g., scripting my podcast or recording my podcast), I will never leverage AI for this because it requires me to tell my own stories, leverage my experiences and my direct expertise. Where I lean heavily on AI is in the amplification of the content I’ve already created. And even then, we ensure it is always edited by a human before we publish.

As I mentioned in previous questions, to use it responsibly to create better effective messages, create better customer service experiences with the use of automation technology, as creators in my business field to still keep an eye to detail and still put in the human touch in our creations and what we are hired to do not to allow us to give way employee positions to Ai just because of lowering cost in our day to day business.
