Our community is filled with incredible women who are driven by their passion to empower others and make the world a better place. We’re so proud to support the non-profit leaders among us, who work tirelessly to break barriers and provide assistance to those in need.

These women are truly remarkable – their dedication inspires us. We hope to fuel their momentum by spotlighting their achievements as they continue striving toward their goals across many fields.

Together, we will keep cheering each other on. Our non-profit members’ work is so important, and their spirit motivates us all to bring more light into the world. As a community, we will keep nurturing each other’s dreams and lifting each other up. There is so much good we can do when we come together.

Here, we celebrate the incredible contributions of our esteemed members, who are on a mission to make a lasting difference in the lives of women everywhere.

Liz Brewer | Angel Foundation FL

The mission of the Angel Foundation FL is to partner with businesses and individuals to be a caring resource for families in our community experiencing a temporary crisis due to a life-threatening illness or catastrophic event. Our Angel families are just like yours, working hard and raising their families until they get that dreaded call, you have cancer, or experience a house fire or the sudden loss of a loved one. We realized that money isn’t the only thing families needed when facing cancer or other catastrophic events. Our Angel Teams meet with families to assess their needs and then match them with local businesses to meet their most practical needs. A lawn care company, auto mechanic, a retail store donates household goods and appliances, are all examples of our Angels providers. We also provide financial support and gift cards to keep them on the road to self-sufficiency. We also partner with local nonprofits to refer families that may not be a fit for our program but are in crisis. We provide families with HOPE and HELP during their worst times and are blessed to be able to serve families as we all know that it could be us. We have helped thousands of families and celebrate 20 years of service to our community this year. We also have a Junior Angels program which is for students 6th-12th grade and we match them with volunteer opportunities throughout the month to earn service hours for college scholarships.

Suzi Freeman | NAWBO Phoenix

Suzi Freeman, an Executive Teen Coach, a mom of five, and a grandma, is also the President of The National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) – Phoenix. NAWBO Phx is all about helping women-owned businesses grow in Phoenix, Arizona and its surrounding communities. It works to strengthen wealth, create the capacity of members, and promote economic development within the Phoenix entrepreneurial community. Since 1975, NAWBO has helped women evolve their businesses by sharing resources and providing a single voice to shape economic and public policy. NAWBO is the only dues-based national organization representing the interests of all women entrepreneurs in all types of businesses. NAWBO’s strength comes from the diversity of its membership – all sizes from sole proprietorship to hundreds of employees; every industry from construction, importers, and retailers to service providers – and in all areas of the country. Membership is open to sole proprietors, partners, and corporate owners with day-to-day management responsibility.

Tami Kent | NOMORE

NOMORE is on a mission to connect people to care for the vulnerable. We believe community transformation is found at the intersection where awareness and mobilization meet. Through community-wide events, outreach projects, and trainings we provide direct opportunities for individuals, businesses, churches and organizations to be educated and engaged to meet needs and affect change in their communities and beyond.

Dr. Sharon Jones | Dottie Rose Foundation

The Dottie Rose Foundation creates a supportive algorithm to close the gender gap for females in the field of technology and computer sciences. We provide connections between academics, business, and community to move girls forward in their educational and personal development. Our breadth of curriculum, the unique experiences we create, and the unmatched human connection to technology is what sets us apart. Providing girls with an educational environment that does not fit current computer science stereotypes increases their interest in computer science courses and provides grounds for interventions to help reduce gender disparities in computer science enrollment. We are changing the conversation of what it means to be a woman in technology and, more specifically, a woman in computer science.
