Faces of KNOW: Shelly Henderson

Shelly Henderson is the Co-Founder of Henderson Properties, author of Starting From Scratch and 2018 & 2019 KNOW Charlotte Featuree.

As co-founder of Henderson Properties along with her husband, Phil, Shelly manages the full-service real estate company’s corporate culture and branding via content marketing and social media strategies. She also runs the company’s leadership development courses for employees.

With her book and speaking center around her, Shelly’s work and words are that every day is a new day with new opportunities and it’s never too late to chase the dream God has put in your heart—aka Start from Scratch.

Her work doesn’t stop there as Shelly Henderson pays it forward to her community in many ways. She volunteers with JDRF’s Charlotte Chapter, an organization committed to funding Type 1 diabetes research in search of a cure, in honor of her son, Blake, who was diagnosed as a child. She supports Christian Liberal International, which collects and distributes Christian books and Bibles to prisons across America.

In addition to these charities, Shelly is the Advisory Board Supervisor for Sigma Kappa’s Theta Delta Chapter at the University of Delaware and is active with her former golf team at Appalachian State.

We asked Shelly to share FIVE FUN FACTS in order to get to KNOW her better.

1. I recently got to attend the Carolina Panthers training camp! That was a blast.

2. We’re entering into the fall / football season so I’m pumped to start my Fantasy

Football League again.

3. I for sure want to speak at the KNOW Summit this year. I’ve loved being a part of this

organization and really want to help the next generation of business owners.

4. I’m the mom of two boys and one is already working in Henderson Properties. The

other is at Alabama majoring in PR. Here’s hoping he joins our team when he

graduates too! 

5. A big goal of mine is to have my book become a resource guide and source of

encouragement for new business owners. Anyone can purchase Starting From
