Cat is the wondering creative of Blue Salvage, a specialty handcurated home goods brand. Blue Salvage was developed while Cat was studying at SCAD for her MA in Design Management. Cat understood by curating these textiles directly from the source that she would be able to facilitate affordable designs for her clientele, and share more profit with her global artisans. ‘Design with a purpose’ became the platform from which she partnered with small-production shops in each country to work with select artisans and collectors. She chose to not only purchase, but also empower her partners to sustain their traditions while supporting their families.
Working with small shop owners in Morocco, family-owned factories in India and a new generation of vintage rug collectors in Turkey, Cat’s travels have been more than a labor of love. “The relationships with my clients and artisans transcend transactions. We have become partners, friends and family throughout our adventures together.”
