Can you tell us a bit about your ‘backstory’ and how you got started?
I started in this business coming from the retail business owner of 2 art galleries. I know left brain and right brain. After a few years in my practice I finally figured out “My Why”, why did I enjoy and want to be in this business that has a very little success rate for advisors. I had sold my business and while I was trying to figure out what I wanted to do as an adulting women, I met a women in the industry and started the conversation. I asked myself “what do I know about this industry” Nothing!! I quickly learned that my girls & my granddaughters will never be in a financial position that they couldn’t make choices for themselves. Something that I had experienced when I was just starting out. There had to be a better way. Not afraid of mistakes and taking the chance to reach out and find someone that could mentor me so I wasn’t embarrassed to ask for help. We can’t do this life alone, it is lonely. Surround yourself with people that are like minded. Find someone that challenges you. My goal has always been “The Power Of 10” Just 10% more will make a big change in the life for my family and myself.

What was the “Aha Moment” that led to the creation of your current company?
Going to an interview to talk to the female VP of my company about women in finance, not knowing at first she was interviewing me. She believed in me when I couldn’t see it at first. 23 years later & happily ever after.

What do you think makes your company stand out?
Client discovery & data gathering. Approaching the clients with wisdom questions that nobody ever asks them. Finding the discontent & concerns and earning the right to ask them these questions through building trust.

What has been your favorite moment in your career so far?
Working with a particular client and her husband unfortunately passed away in an untimely unexpected accident and after knowing I did the right thing by my clients and the value I brought to the family, they were going to be Ok. This certainly brings passion

What measure do you use to determine success?
If I am working with someone that is upwardly mobile, they are coachable and they have love in their life that makes any meeting a success, not how much money they have.

What piece of advice has impacted you the most?
“You can’t do this alone”

What message would you like to give to anybody who has a plan of creating something of their own and making a living through it?
Make sure it’s not a hobby, seek the help to design a business plan and be willing to keep opening doors when one closes.
